As we recently shared, Tröegs was looking to shake things up in 2019 with a staple brand of theirs. You can read more here if you’re not familiar. Long story short Tröegs hand-picked 14 of their favorite artists to tell the story of Nugget Nectar through their eyes in limited edition can artwork.
As you may have also read, the recent government shut down impacted beer that was produced by local, craft breweries. The agency responsible for approving can art had been shut down and label approval was halted as a result of this. Just a few months after the shutdown took place the first major blow has landed.
In a recent tweet from the brewery, they will no longer be moving forward with the Nugget Nectar program as originally planned. See below:
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, while we did have a plan for these, they are a no go this year due to the backup in label approvals.

No word yet on whether or not the brand will continue this in the future. We have reached for comment from Tröegs and will update with a response if we hear from them.
