Yards And Harpoon Are Battling For Super Bowl Bragging Rights

Boston vs Philadelphia, a tale as old as time itself. Paul Revere vs Ben Franklin. Cheesesteaks Vs Clam Chowdah. Dave Portnoy Vs Kyle Scott (look it up).

Now a new chapter will be written in this historic rivalry as the Eagles take on the Patriots in Super Bowl 52. And while the idea of the Eagles winning their first Super Bowl may have the Delaware Valley on pins and needles that’s not the only stakes on the line.

Yards Brewing (Philly’s favorite brewery) has placed a bet against Boston based Harpoon Brewery in honor of this big game. The bet is as follows: the losing brewery will have to pour the winning brewery’s beer in their taproom for an entire day and their staff will be required to wear the opponent’s gear!

The message from Yards founder, and longtime Eagles season ticket holder, Tom Kehoe was pretty simple: “To our friends at Harpoon: Get ready to wear some Green. The last time we moved our brewery, the Phillies won the World Series, and we handed out free Philly Pale Ale to fans celebrating in the streets. Now, after once again opening a new facility, we are hoping some of that Yards good luck will rub off on our high-flying NFC champs.  Let’s go Birds!”

So there you have it, the stakes are set. While a parade down Broad Street sounds exciting, we personally can’t wait to see Philly Invade Boston (hmmmmmm next Tap Takeover idea?)
