2SP Donating Proceeds Of Every Pour And Sale Of “The Russian” Stout To Help Ukraine

2SP Brewing Company has announced that they will be raising money to help Ukraine.

The Aston-based brewery will be donating proceeds of every pour and sale of their popular stout “The Russian”, as well as variants of the beer too, to the International Rescue Committee (IRC). Read the brewery’s post below to see their decision.

Text from 2SP Brewing Company’s post:

“The Russian stands with Ukraine.

Our brewery will be donating proceeds of every pour and sale of The Russian and its variants to the International Rescue Committee (IRC).

We chose the IRC because they are providing basic necessities, such as food and medical supplies to families displaced by the war. The IRC is operating in Poland where millions have fled to. We have family friends taking in refugees in Krakow. The situation is dire and refugees need the support.

A few people have asked if we are going to change the name of our Imperial Stout, The Russian. We are not for a couple of reasons:

-The Russian is named after the British style with a long and storied history. Nationally, our head brewer has become known for being one of the masters of the Russian Imperial Stout after decades of winning medals at both national and international competitions. We know that you all understand the name is not an endorsement of Putin and Russian aggression, but a nod to the style.

-An old Irish quote goes something like this; “just because you’re born in a stable, it doesn’t make you a horse.” We see many brave and courageous Russians in St Petersburg, Moscow, Kyiv, Philadelphia, and all over the world protesting Putin & the war. We stand with them. Changing the name of The Russian sends a message our Delco brewery stands against; assuming the worst in people because of where they’re from.
God Bless Ukraine.”
