Need a little break from the haze? Trying to grasp what the craft beer you fell in love with tastes like from years ago? Reach for a Red Heart IPA by Love City Brewing. Brewed as a collaboration beer with Philly’s beloved beer bars Local 44 and Strangeloves, Red Heart is a callback to the classic red IPA and is definitely worth grabbing as a reminder of where we came from.
The beer pours a beautiful ruby red that’s as clear as day with pine and floral hop notes hitting your nose as the beer cascades into the glass. On your first sip you’re greeted with a beautiful firm bitterness that reminds you of the first time you got a punch of hops from your gateway craft beers. This beer has a medium body that allows the the sweet caramel malt notes to dance on your palate and the bitter punch to follow as the beer finishes dry.
Stop by the brewery to grab some cans, try this beer on cask at Strangeloves and on tap at Local 44, but act quickly as it’s not going to last!
