With the weather finally warming up as the summer solstice has arrived, it’s time to think about those summer barbecues and fun in the sun, and most importantly what beer to have in that summer heat.  Blind Melons by Naked Brewing Company of Huntingdon Valley may just be that beer.  Blind Melons is a riff on their Buck Naked Cream Ale, but with 200lbs fresh watermelon.  Much like the popular summer fruit, this beer is refreshing, light on the palate and won’t fill you up, but is perfect for a day spent in the sun.

The beer pours a pale golden color with aromas of fresh watermelon jumping out of the glass as you pour the beer.  Blind Melons has a light body that’s subtly sweet in the middle with fresh watermelon on the finish that is perfect to enjoy if you’re looking for just the right amount of flavor without overwhelming your palate on a hot day.
