Brewery Review: Crime And Punishment

Located in the heart of Brewerytown, inside of Philadelphia, you will find this 7 barrel commercial brewery (the first of its kind in Brewerytown since 2002). This quaint brewery boasts some flavorful beers and delicious food all while feeling like your at the neighborhood friendly bar.

Once a bike shop, this location was established in July of 2015 by owner Mike Wambolt. Outside of the amazing beers they are putting out, they are doing much more. From sponsoring little leagues to hosting local arts events, the folks at C&P go above and beyond to participate in the thriving Brewerytown neighborhood life.

This brewery will not overwhelm you with the amount of beers on tap, but your taste buds are in for a roller coaster ride of flavor. You'll find that quality over quantity reigns supreme here. Whether it is the session IPA that pours with a strong haze or their staple IPA, Space Race, that is one of the best IPA's you will find in this part of the state, you are in for a treat. Not an IPA fan? No problem. You could also sip on their Brown Ale, Dry Hopped Gose or standard Pale Ale. Whatever your taste buds are looking for, Crime and Punishment is sure to have it.

Beer

The enjoyment doesn't stop at just the beer. While this location is quaint, that doesn't stop them from putting out a great food selection. Grab a menu and choose between Kielbasa or Roast Pork Sandwich, Charcuterie Board, House-made Pickle Bowl and more! Check out their menu for yourself.

Make sure you get there between 4:00 and 7:00, because that's when you'll get $2 off each full pour.

And take notice of the beer list, you'll see that you are getting a half pour at a full pour price!

Something that may go unnoticed when you visit this location is a specific part of their wall decor. Craft Brewing can sometimes be very competitive. And while there are a good number of collaborations, you will tend to also find breweries that are just in it for themselves. When you head over to Crime and Punishment, check out the bottles on the wall. Take a look below and you will see bottles from Forest & Main, Vault Brewing and even Tree House. C&P is not afraid to show off and promote some other great breweries.
