Grist House Command is inviting the community to celebrate Independence Day this Saturday with the release of a commemorative beer, live music, limited-edition merchandise, and one of the most unique Fourth of July experiences in the Pittsburgh area.
Leading the celebration is Outrun Freedom, the latest release in Grist House’s Outrun Series of crisp, hop-forward pilsners. Brewed to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, this refreshing 4.6% ABV pilsner is dry hopped with classic American hops, Citra and Amarillo, delivering bright citrus, orange zest, and subtle tropical notes over a clean, snappy finish.
Outrun Freedom is brewed for long summer weekends, neighborhood cookouts, and good company. While a lot has changed over the last two and a half centuries, sharing a cold beer with friends remains one of the great American pastimes.
On Saturday, July 4th, the taproom will be open from 11 AM until 11 PM. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a series of solo sets from local musicians, purchase exclusive Fourth of July Grist House merchandise, and spend the evening at Grist House’s newest facility, Grist House Command, with plenty of seats on the expansive outdoor decks.
Sitting on one of the highest points in Allegheny County, Grist House Command offers panoramic views across the region, making it one of the area’s most unique places to celebrate Independence Day. While there are no fireworks to display on site, guests can watch multiple fireworks shows from communities throughout the Pittsburgh area from the brewery’s elevated decks. The result is a viewing experience unlike anywhere else in the region.

The celebration is free entry and open to all ages. The Command Kitchen will be serving food from a special holiday inspired menu throughout the day, making it an ideal destination to spend the holiday from afternoon through the evening.
