For years people have claimed the grainy photos and eye witness accounts are false. But now, we at BreweriesinPA.com can confirm the Hopness Monster is no myth.

Hopness Monster is an 8.2% ABV double IPA from Manayunk Brewing Company.

We have tried a few beers from Manayunk Brewing so far and have enjoyed what we tried, but this took it to another level.

With 85 IBU’s this double IPA is hopped like crazy with floral citrus hops (Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial) and Scottish malts (2-Row, Golden Promise, C-40). With all these hops and malts you get a unique flavor, one we haven’t come across.

This beer pours to a deep amber/copper color, with a white foamy head. A clear citrus smell is immediate as well as the rich malt. Tasting was the best, wow all the flavors in this one! Notes of citrus, grapefruit, malt, and caramel from the malts. Hopness Monster is bitter, but not too much, giving this a balance of hops and malts.

You just never know what Manayunk Brewing will come out with next. They make many different styles of beers, using many ingredients you wouldn’t imagine could work (cucumbers), but they do. Give this a shot, it won’t disappoint!
