For this weeks homebrew feature, we present King Juice, an 8.3% ABV DIPA from Alkaline Brewing (Hanover, PA). This beer is brewed with Citra and Chinook in the kettle, and double dry hopped with El Dorado and Galaxy hops.
Pouring to a very hazy dark orange, we noticed a medium sized white head in our glass. Aromas of bright citrus fruit dominated this one. We couldn’t wait to take a sip.
Tasting King Juice brings exactly what you expect given the name. Full body mouthfeel, more sweet on the front with a slight bitterness rounding it out. At 8% this beer drinks dangerously smooth! We noticed a lot of peach flavors immediately from the galaxy, some grapefruit and mango, as well as a little pine.
