Pittsburgh’s first (and only) Caribbean themed craft brewery is set to close its doors. In a post on social media, Mastic Trail Brewing announced their last day of business is set for Saturday, September 2nd.

The Caribbean themed brewpub opened in July 2020, in the Glenshaw neighborhood of Pittsburgh. They opened in a 7,000 sq/ft building and brewing on a 10 BBL brewhouse. The brewpub was known for offering a Caribbean-inspired menu, with items such as jerk chicken and bacalao fritters.

To give customers the true beach feeling, Mastic Trail has a clear epoxy floor with sand underneath, as well as some ocean floors in another room with waves and coral reefs. Their main bar has sand and seashells, while the back of the building looks like a dock.

In mid-2022 the brewery would temporarily close for several months citing a myriad of post-Covid issues. However, seemed to rebound in late 2022 when they announced their re-opening.

As the post says, the final day of business for the brewery will be Saturday, September 2nd, with regular hours leading up to the day.
