Arboretum Trail Brewing Announces Closure Of Brewery In Pittsburgh; Last Day Aug. 31st

After just two years in business, Arboretum Trail Brewing is closing its doors at 1351 Washington Boulevard in Pittsburgh. The brewery, which opened in the Summer of 2021, recently announced the closure on social media.

This marks the second brewery to close in this location in the last two years. Couch Brewing closed its doors in the same space on Washington Boulevard in November of 2021. The history of the location was something Arboretum Trail regularly moaned about online. Even going as far as releasing a beer named “It’s A Tough Location”. The beer was first announced in June of 2023 with the brewery saying the following about the inspiration behind the release:

“It’s no secret we picked a tough location for the first taproom for Arbo. It’s been a struggle and if I am being completely honest, we need everyone’s support this week so we can keep this train rolling.”

Now it would appear that the train has come to a stop at the Washington Boulevard location. Despite the closure, Arboretum Trail shared that they plan to continue to brew its beer for distribution only, although no plans of where and when this will happen are available.
