Brewery Preview: Brothers Kershner Brewing (Skippack, PA)

This summer Brothers Kershner Brewing is bringing craft beer to Skippack, PA. Recently we met with the brothers themselves to learn more about this future brewery and get an inside look. Brainchild of Kevin and Basil Kershner, their brewery will be located at 4119 Skippack Pike. The perfect addition to a thriving and growing main street Americana feel that makes up Skippack Pike, full of a plethora of small businesses.

Kevin and Basil are not only brothers, but they are well experienced home brewers in their own rights. Kevin comes with 7 years brewing experience initially learning from Basil who has close to 10 years.

The brewery will offer a 15 barrel brew system with three 15 barrel and two 30 barrel fermenters. In fact, patrons will be so close to the brewhouse that they will think they are brewing themselves (although we recommend you leave that to the brothers). Crowlers will also be offered to go.

What was once a former auto body shop, their location is 4,300 square feet (1,700 for customers) and will be able to house close to 100 patrons. They will offer a 12 tap system; with 5 beers on tap when they initially open; a saison, IPA, porter, pale ale and more. Eventually filling every tap! The brewery will not offer a food menu, however they plan to work with the local restaurants in Skippack to hand deliver food directly to you!

The theme throughout the brewery will be rustic paired with an industrial flair, with re-purposed furniture throughout. They will also offer outdoor seating on the side of the building as well as out front. Also out front will be plenty of room for games. Kevin said they plan to offer cornhole, what goes better with beer than that?

These rustic, classical doors should make the perfect backdrop for that Untappd check in, right?

See the facility as it is still under construction currently. We will continue to update pictures as they get closer to their opening date this summer.

As we were told they want the “experience for every customer to be top notch.” It was our impression that the brothers are putting the customer first in everything they do. The brewery is “built on brotherly love”, not because of their proximity to Philadelphia, but because they want each customer to feel like family when they walk into the doors.

Brothers Kershner expects to be open this Summer. Make sure to check out their website and follow them on Facebook and Instagram for more updates on when they open.
