Zelie Pour Tour Being Developed To Boost Tourism In Zelienople

A new craft beverage trail is in the works in Zelienople that could give visitors another reason to spend a day exploring the Butler County borough.

The Zelie Pour Tour is being developed around six local businesses: Burghers Brewing, Lolev Beer, ShuBrew, Urban Vine, Wicked Rabbit and Papa Joe’s Wine Cellar. The group includes three breweries, two wineries and a distillery, with all six located within just a few blocks of each other.

Originally reported by the Butler Eagle, the idea is to create a self-guided experience that encourages visitors to walk through Zelienople’s Main Street while stopping at each participating business.

A passport is being developed that would include a map and a page for each location. Visitors would receive a stamp at each stop and could receive a souvenir after completing the tour.

The project is still in the early planning stages, but organizers are hoping to have a more finalized plan in place by late fall, with a possible launch around the holiday season.

The group is also looking at ways to attract visitors from outside the immediate area, including the possibility of working with transportation companies for groups coming from farther away.

The Pour Tour is being positioned as more than just a way to visit breweries and other beverage businesses. Organizers hope bringing more visitors to Zelienople will also send foot traffic to the other restaurants, shops and businesses throughout the borough.
