Cold Open is a 4.7% ABV lager from Eleventh Hour Brewing (Pittsburgh, PA). This beer is brewed with Pennsylvania grown Cascade hops from Hazy Daze Hop Farm in Prospect, PA.
Brewed in the style of a Steam beer, or a California Common, this brew was fermented with California lager yeast at a slightly higher temperature. It then went through the lagering process for 6 weeks!
Pouring to a slightly opaque amber color, you’ll get a tan head in your glass. We noticed aromas of breads malts, some pine, and light floral notes on the nose of this one. Tasting Cold Open brings the crisp body you would expect in a lager, with a nice dry finish. We noticed flavors of bready, biscuit malts, with a nice floral undertone.
