Final Destination from Erie Brewing Company

Final Destination is a West Coast Style IPA from Erie Brewing Company with 7% ABV.

This brew pours to a vibrant orange that almost glows with a good amount of haze. There was some head, about half a fingers worth that quickly dissipates leaving only a hint of lacing. It lives up to its west coast label with a very dank and musty nose that clues you in on what to expect. And live up it does, this ale is dank with a hop forward flavor that gets its dank notes from the Simcoe and its juiciness from the Citra.

Despite a lot of hop flavor and bitterness (60 IBUs) Final Destination doesn’t linger on the tongue and only has a medium body. For this reason it’s quite enjoyable on its own and doesn’t necessarily need a fatty counterpart to help trim off some of the edge. However, as with most IPA’s, West Coast or East Coast, a fatty dish pairs excellently-this can be a juicy burger or a fine cheese plate. Fruit beers and lager do well in the summer because of their lightness, but the IPA always has a place among the traditional summer BBQ items.

Available year round in 12 ounce bottles with some lovely artwork you can also grab it in 1/6 kegs, 1/2 kegs, firkins and pins.
