Grand Opening: Meyers Brewing Company July 9th (Philadelphia)

Join us in congratulating Meyers Brewing Company who will officially open to the public on Friday, July 9th, 2021 at 4pm. The Phildelphia-based brewery will be located at 436 East Girard Avenue in Phildelphia.

Owner Mike Meyers’ family history includes Meyers Dairies which his great great grandfather opened in the late 1800s and was family operated until the 1940s in Ambler, PA. They operated out of an old horse carriage manufacturing plant. Once he discovered this, he knew the brewery would be a great fit inside an 1880s carriage house right in Fishtown. It is with this theme, that Meyers designed the location for, and he’s calling it an “modern farmhouse feel”.

Taking the same logo and adding “brewing” just felt right to Mike, as he says, “it makes sense to me that my great-great grandfather operated a business in an old horse carriage manufacturing plant, and now here I am about to operate a brewery out of a carriage house. How cool is that?”

As you may remember, Meyers Brewing was first announced when Kurant Brew & Brew had shared the news that they would be closing. Beer fans will see a familiar face in the brewery, as Cortney Costa will be leading brewing operations. She will be brewing on a 3.5 bbl brewhouse, supplying beer to 12 taps in the taproom.
