The Rivertowne Brewing, in Pittsburgh, PA, story goes back 16 years. Beginning in 2002, when an aspiring restaurateur and his family bought the original Rivertowne Inn, a small bar nestled right along the Allegheny River in Verona, just outside of Pittsburgh. As a true OG of the Pittsburgh brewing scene they have not only been a staple of the community for over a decade and a half, but also have built a brewing operation the people of Pittsburgh can be proud of; by operating 5 locations.
Today, it has been announced that they will be filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to a report by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. As is reported a turnaround plan is due to be filed with the court by September.
We will continue to update as more information is made available.
