White Magick of the Sun is a spiced Belgian-style wheat ale with 7.0% ABV from Voodoo Brewing Co. located in Meadville and Homestead, PA. The Meadville location is the main base of Voodoo, where the manufacturing is ran out of in addition to a brewpub offering all their best brews and chews. Homestead, their distribution hub also offers a pub, in addition to their roving Foodoo food truck.
White Magick pours to a transparent orange color with a thin white head that quickly dissipates leaving some lacing and an aroma of orange and spice. Initial flavors include wheat, juniper berry, orange and coriander. The wheat is very subtle, with orange zest and coriander spice taking prominent flavor roles.
Stronger than most traditional witbiers the higher alcohol content is offset by a robust carbonation that makes for an easy drinking experience. The carbonation also makes for an interesting combination with the somewhat peppery finish, it is both crisp, yet still delivers a little bite at the finish.
