“A Four Qusp Hypocycloid and Well Balanced IPA”

Before diving into the tastes, I have to break down the name of this beer by Dancing Gnome. At first you may think that it is a typo, especially since there is a picture of an asteroid on the can. However the term "Astroid" is actually deeply rooted in Pittsburgh history and refers to the diamonds symbol that makes up the Steelers logo. Just to clarify there is an asteroid [small rock body in space] on the can of Astroid with plenty of astroid symbols. You get all of that? Now onto the good part – the beer.

I'm always excited to see this IPA on draft anytime I wander into the taproom and its even better when they drop cans of it. Cant state how well executed the mouthfeel of this brew is – balancing perfectly between juicy and dry. Tons of tropical smells on the nose that you cant get enough with. Tastes of pineapple and stone fruit fill your palette, but a floral but dank finish on the end.

Brewed utilizing a grain bill of Golden Promise, Flaked Wheat, Dextrine, and Dextrose additions. The Dextrine and Dextrose contribute to an increased body, overall mouthfeel, and head retention of the beer. A heavy handed hop addition includes Denali, Citra, and Chinook – yes please! Astroid isnt going anywhere but that doesn't mean you should wait on trying it – hit up the next can release or a draft at the tap room.
