Update 2/20: At the end of a fairly lengthy Instagram video on recent beer releases Jean Broillet of Tired Hands responded to the news of Ardmore Brewing closing. You can see that post here (however be warned you have to get through a lengthy one man skit on some of the more recent beer releases). At the end of this clip he addresses the “bullshit” (his words) news story on the location. If you do not have the time to get through the lengthy beer release skit, below sums up the main points he makes about the space:
The Ardmore Brewing location is “dealing with hefty construction going on that is hugging the location” and as such Tired Hands has “decided to centralize local operations to Fermentaria”. He goes on to say the Ardmore Brewing taproom is “not closed” and that Tired Hands “still owns the building. But it will only be open for private events” which he says “are the most affordable prices in town for private events.” He does not address the recent Kennett Square closure in the video.
Original Article:
For those not aware, Ardmore Brewing Company opened back in 2025 as a reimagined evolution of the original BrewCafé operated by Tired Hands Brewing Company in Ardmore, PA. The rebrand followed several turbulent years for Tired Hands, which in 2021 faced widespread allegations of a toxic workplace culture, including claims of sexism and mistreatment that sparked public backlash, staff departures, and leadership changes as founder Jean Broillet IV (temporarily) stepped away from daily operations (he would soon return one year later). The controversy reshaped the brewery’s reputation in the Philadelphia beer scene and ultimately set the stage for restructuring efforts, including the transition that led to Ardmore Brewing’s debut.
For the last year Ardmore Brewing has been operating publicly as its own brand while ownership of the brewing company remained under Tired Hands. It would now appear as Tired Hands has quietly shut down, or at least temporarily ceased operations. When viewing the Google listing it shows the location as “Temporarily Closed.”

In addition, the brewery’s Instagram page has not posted in over four months. Furthermore, a license search for the location shows all current licenses as expired as of December last year.

As of this writing, nothing has officially been shared by Tired Hands on the status of the location or the beer brewed under the Ardmore Brewing label. However, when placing a call to Tired Hands we were told that Ardmore Brewing is “closed to the public and will only open for private events.” Check back for more updates as they become available.
