ABV: 6%

Hops: Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic

Before we get into the review of this beer, we must address why Sean and Andy Arsenault brew this beer. Their father Wayne has Parkinsons and it sucks, so when they opened their brewery, they vowed to brew a beer for their father that would benefit the Michael J. Fox foundation to further research this disease and one day eradicate it. Proceeds from draft sales have gone directly to the foundation and now the first batch of cans of this beer are benefiting the cause.

This American Pale Ale has a slightly hazy golden amber appearance with big aromas of citrus and tropical fruit that greet you as you pour it out of the can.  Each sip greets you with big and bright flavors of tropical fruit and citrus that will cure these late winter blues and remind you that spring is coming.  The beer has a nice mouthfeel that lets these flavors linger between sips and have you wanting to reach for another once you’re done.  The finish is dry with a slight amount of piney bitterness that you’d expect from a beer with Simcoe.  Though it may not look like spring right now, reaching for this one will trick your nose and taste buds into believing there’s not a nor’easter going on outside.

Check out Wayne’s Pale Ale from Brewery ARS; not only because it’s a great beer, but it also supports a deserving cause.  Be sure to stay tuned for more from South Philly’s favorite garage brewery!
