Breakfast at Cathy’s from North Country Brewing Co.

Breakfast at Cathy’s is a 13% barrel aged breakfast stout from North Country Brewing Company (Slippery Rock, PA). This beer was aged in Cruzan rum barrels with Sumatra coffee beans, Arribia cocoa nibs, Tahitian vanilla beans, and maple syrup from North Country Harvesting Co.

Pouring to a dark black we got a big brown head in our glass. Aromas of roasted coffee, vanilla, and bright cocoa were noticeable once we poured this.

Tasting this beer was quite a treat. The maple syrup and coffee are very prominent and add a nice creamy sweetness to this brew. It’s hard to believe this is 13%!
