Five Leaves Left was a 5 can release from Tired Hands Brewing Company (Ardmore, PA). Released in succession once a week 1, this series highlights oat- based double IPA’s each brewed with a single hop and single sugar source.
I – An 8% DIPA brewed with corn sugar (dextrose) and singularly hopped with Mosaic. Notes of mango and honeydew are noticeable.
II – An 8% DIPA brewed with honey from Fruitwoods Orchard and singularly hopped with Idaho 7. Notes of peaches, pineapple, and strawberries are noticeable.
III – An 8% DIPA brewed with agave syrup and singularly hopped and dry hopped with Galaxy. Notes of peach and lime as well as some light spice are noticeable.
IV – An 8% DIPA brewed with candi syrup and singularly hopped and dry hopped with Citra. Notes of passionfruit and grapefruit are noticeable.
V – An 8% DIPA brewed with jaggery, a sugar derived from palm sap, and singularly hopped with Cascade. Notes of tangerine, coconut, pine and musty grass.
